THE CORSINEL APPROACH
A stoma is often complicated by a hernia at the surgical site. Parastomal hernias may have other side effects or cause inconveniences such as leakage, pain, intestinal blockage, reduced mobility and affect cosmetic appearance leading to desocialisation. Similarly, abdominal hernias can subject patients to considerable pain and discomfort. With or without surgery, this common condition requires special attention and support.
